The Birds Hill Pie Machine
works with almost any type of pie dough. Your pie dough needs

be pliable - soft but not
sticky. If your recipe makes a really stiff dough you will
probably |

have to reduce the flour slightly.
I have used a recipe that has 1lb lard, 1 cup liquid,(egg, vinegar
and water
up to 1 cup) & 5 cups flour. |

Can I make a crumb crust such as a Graham Wafer crust?
|

Yes, baked and unbaked graham wafer
crumb crusts may be used. Some modifying of the |
|
recipe is required. Please check the
recipes here: |

*Please
note: Do Not Chill Your Pie Dough!
Chilled pie dough will not form or spread |
|
out when pressed in the
machine. This machine is designed for and works great with
|
|
freshly made pie dough. If you make
your dough ahead of time and chill it - bring it to room temperature before using. |

I like what I see, but would like
something slightly different. Do you custom make the Pie
Machine and tart presses? |

Yes, much of our business is custom
making our presses to our customer's specifications. |
|
You would need to call and
discuss your needs with us and we will give you a quote on what the
extra custom making fee would be. |

Because there is no standard
pie plate across Canada and the USA, you will need to call
|
|
us to discuss which pie plate you
use and in most instances mail us a sample metal or foil
|
|
pan so that we can design your machine/crimper
for that particular pan. We have some
|
|
sample pans in stock
and if we carry the one you wish to
use - then you will not have to mail us one.

How do you ship the machine? |
|

We ship it with UPS and in most locations across
Canada and the USA it will cost about $75.00. |
|
We say the shipping is
approximately $75.00, because in some instances it will be slightly
more, depending on where you are
located. |

How do you ship the
crimper? |
|
If you order the Pie Machine it will be packed with
the machine. if you order the crimper |
|
|
separately, we can send it Canada Post or UPS. Shipping will
range from $15.00 - 25.00 to most areas in Canada and the USA. |
